Hello Everyone,
I am in the middle of scanning all of our provenance paperwork and linking it to our digital files. Unfortunately, nothing had been done with the paperwork for the past thirty years. For many of our artworks we do not have a letter of donation saying the work was given to the museum, but we do have the donor's tax return showing they claimed it as a donation for a tax write-off that year. Is the tax return enough paperwork to prove we own the artwork?
