  • 1.  Requesting participants for science museum educator study

    Posted 04-04-2022 11:31 AM

    Hello all,

    Apologies for cross posting.

My name is Megan Ennes and I am the Assistant Curator of Museum Education at the Florida Museum of Natural History, University of Florida. I am writing to invite you to participate in a short survey about informal science educators' self perceptions of their facilitation skills. We are attempting to better understand in what areas educators' feel skillful and where they feel they need more professional development. For this study, we are seeking paid educators in informal science centers (zoos, aquariums, natural history museums, science centers, etc.) over the age of 18. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and there are no direct benefits for completing the survey.

Please feel free to share this survey with other informal science educators at your institution.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Principal Investigator, Dr. Megan Ennes, at megan.ennes@ufl.edu. Dr. Ennes is the Assistant Curator of Museum Education in the Department of Natural History at the University of Florida. This survey has IRB approval under IRB Project #: IRB202200782. While AAM is allowing us to post this through their listserv, they are neither engaged in nor sponsoring this study.

    Thank you for your time.
    Megan

    Hi all,
I hope everyone is having a great week.

We are getting ready to close our study on how science museum educators feel about their skills related to teaching in museums. If you haven't had an opportunity to fill out our survey, we hope you will take a few minutes to do so. The survey is intended to help us improve professional development for museum educators and their home institutions.

If you would like to take our survey, you can find it here: https://tinyurl.com/ISESelfEfficacy

Also, please feel free to share it with any of your colleagues who might be interested.

Do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

    Best,
    Megan
