  • 1.  Best Practices in Making a Historic Heritage Walking Trail

I am designing a historic heritage walking trail in a historic African American community in Florida.  Can anyone point me to a best practices document to help me in that project?  While I've designed and installed many many indoor historic and otherwise exhibits, this is my first crack at a project with this outdoor scope.  Are there guidelines specifying ideal walk times?  Numbers of stops?  Ways to layer one trail loop on top of another (we have WAY too many stops for a single tour, I think).  Different delivery methods for interpretive content?  We are designing a phone app and have text panels planned for certain stops.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi! I am going to give you a call, I hope that is ok! We have an app that you can use for free to deliver your content. We are also currently producing content at no charge in FL.
