Interested in hosting a virtual "ask me anything" session for students

    Hello, Everyone.

I manage an internship program and am wondering about offering a virtual "ask me anything" session on Zoom about the internship application and selection process. Rather than offering a formal presentation, I was planning to be informal so students can come and go with their questions. Does anyone have experience doing this before? What kind of format has worked best? Is thirty minutes the right length?

    Thank you!

    It's an excellent idea!

We do an internship course here and, to prep, it's important to give them this kind of info – how to apply for the internship.

A talk like yours would help students "see it from the other side of the table".

Remembering from my own undergrad experience, the employer side of the equation was a mystery.

Typically the students here have a 20 minute attention span for a lecture, and half will be a solid 10 minutes late with log-on technical issues.

Maybe the 30 minute Q/A could come after?

Good luck with it and let us know when to log on.
