  • 1.  Appraising for Loans

    Posted 07-01-2020 01:24 PM
    Afternoon all,

Once again I am struggle with  putting a value on an item going out on loan.  As an archaeologist, I am not comfortable at all with putting a price on an archaeological item.  Normally I go to ebay or take a shot in the dark.  I would really like some guidance on this subject.  The items in question this time are from freedman's farm.

    Thank you in advance,

    Marybeth

You should check with the insurance provider to determine what type of an appraisal they will actually accept. Most policies are not going to accept a "self" appraisal if the item has a high value (-$500). They will accept the appraisal you give them, but paying should something happen to the item is an entirely different matter.
