We are looking for providers of reasonably priced software to assist with the booking of school tours.  We have approximately 10,000 school children visit the museum annually, with a very small staff, so we are looking for ways to manage this function efficiently.  Thank you in advance for any tips!

Our institution uses Altru (Blackbaud Hosting) for school tours/event bookings as well as all programs and general admission. Not the very best, but it gets the job done!

Ah man this topic comes up like every 6 months. If you search the forum you should be able to find some other threads where folks have posted what they use.

Just had a call with the folks at FareHarbor - Reservation software and really liked it. Got it from our friends at Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, who use it to book their school programs; you can see the calendar at the bottom of this page is the fare harbor system: School Programs. It's likely that we'll use them for the 2016-2017 school year as our institution gears up for a larger tech upgrade to our website and enterprise-level software like Blackbaud.

For children in grades K-12, the Conservancy's education program combines inquiry-based and experiential learning to create lessons that meet Common Core learning standards. Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy's education calendar is divided into three semesters: spring (January - June), summer (July - August) and fall (September - December).
