    Dear AAM community,

We are excited to announce upcoming opportunities to join the Portal to the Public Network. The Portal to the Public approach helps organizations connect public audiences with the research and innovation happening in their own community through dialogue with local STEM practitioners. The approach centers on a flexible guiding framework that combines science communication training, relationship-building between museums and STEM practitioners, and public events that bring together these practitioners with  the larger community. Dozens of science centers, natural history museums, children’s museums, zoos, aquariums, and other institutions have adopted the framework and collectively form the Portal to the Public Network (PoPNet), a community of practice dedicated to scientist-and-public engagement.

The next two training workshops will be held October 10-12, 2016 and February 22-24, 2017 at Pacific Science Center in Seattle, Washington.. You can find requirements for joining and the application on the PoPNet website at http://popnet.pacificsciencecenter.org/.
