  • 1.  Online Collections Database question

    Posted 01-21-2015 09:49 AM
    Hello -

We are in the process of changing our website at work and our online collection portion will not be available once the change over happens as it is set up now.  Does anyone have any suggestions for how best to allow for collections database to be viewed online?  The collections program we use is called iO - does anyone else use this and if so do you have a searchable portion of your website?

    Thank you for any ideas

We are just starting to use Imu/Emu for our collections on line.  We are hosting it in house, but they are going to provide us widgets.
Does the program provide any widget code or option for web views.
How did you view the collections before from the website?  Were you hitting services to the DB to fetch data?  Was the DB a part of the website?

    Hi all,
I have a similar question. I am working with a consortium of small-town historical societies, all using either Microsoft Access or PastPerfect for their collections databases and we are looking for an inexpensive web development software that wll interface with our data. Currently a volunteer is mapping all data to Access and using ten-yr-old software DB2ASP to allow it to be searched on-line. Suggestions for alternatives?
