    Dear Colleagues,

We will be hosting a Peer 2 Peer Google Hangout on May 13, 2015 at 1pm EST focusing on wellness programs in museums for museum educators. We are thinking about having an informal and informed discussion revolving around: defining wellness programs, discussing model programs that have served as inspiration for program development, and why should museums conduct wellness programs?

Some questions we will address through discussion include:

    •             How can museums better collaborate with the health, medical, wellness, and social care sectors?

    •             What research can affirm the connection between museums and health?

    •             Does your institution have health care-centered initiatives? If so, are these programs facilitated by outside specialists or run by trained museum staff?

    •             What types of programming do you provide?

    •             What has been your experience with these programs and initiatives?

    •             What types of programming differences happen between History organizations and Art organizations?

    •             What types of programming differences happen between inside and outside institutions?

We are looking for two or three contributors to join our group and participate in this Peer 2 Peer Google Hangout. Please send Brooke a response if you have an interest or reply to this thread if you have an idea to share.

    With many thanks,

Lucas Livingston, Art Institute of Chicago

Mark Osterman, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens
