We are exploring the pricing for publication of 4 planned books of photography from our collection. We plan an order of 125 of each of the 4 books.  This is a smaller print run, so we are looking for advice on reputable book printers that can complete this professionally. We'd like a hard cover book in 6" x 9". Has anyone been through this that is familiar with a good printer we should look at? So far we have lulu.com and bookbaby.com on our "check it out" list.

We publish catalogs for each of our traveling art quilt exhibitions (16 exhibitions this year), as well as two magazines and an annual Portfolio.  We've used Kirin Coburn of Coburn Printing Ink <kirin@coburnprinting.com> to source printers in Hong Kong for larger jobs and Mike Daniels <publishercoach@gmail.com> to find us the right printer for small print runs done in the US.

We will be using Walsh Media Solutions - contact Peter Walsh <peter@walshmediasolutions.com><peter@walshmediasolutions.com> for a 250 copy print run of our catalog for "Stories of Migration" which will be opening at the Textile Museum in Washington, DC, in April.  They might be a good solution for you.

Please give me a call if you would like more detailed information (860-487-4199).

We have had good experiences with O'Neil printing in Phoenix, AZ. Our photography department has also used them for printing books.

We are looking at a digital printer called Edition One Books (editiononebooks.com) in Berkeley for an upcoming small-run symposium volume. We haven't worked with them yet, but their samples look good. However, our book is not as photo-dependent as the ones you describe.

You might take a look at Timber Press here in the Pacific NW.  They do quality work.

Hi! My company Osprey Custom Publishing does excellent editing, design, layout, printing and distribution work. In fact, all the work is done by the same team that works on our own books. That makes our prices very competitive and reasonable since we can leverage our efficiencies of scale.

Sorry for the hardsell but feel free to check us out at ospreycustompublishing.com. If this is something that would fit your project feel free to reach out to me at christian.waters@bloomsbury.com or 631-525-7316.

If you have your layout done, IngramSpark might be worth a look. I have used them for smaller runs of photography/art books and would use them again.
