  • 1.  Seeking a speaker re: technology in museums, 4/26/16

    Posted 09-10-2015 11:32 AM

Edison Price Lighting is looking to contract a speaker for a 25-30  minute lecture for education and entertainment   Details are as follows:

Event: Company dinner for 125-150  people, April 26th, 2016, San Diego, CA

Topic: The future of museums. Ideally, this lecture would focus on museum’s increasing use of technology.

Audience: Lighting professionals. The audience are representatives of our company, which designs and manufactures high-quality lighting fixtures. Our fixtures are very popular among art institutions, and have been installed in over 400 museums and art galleries.  Your lecture does not need to focus on lighting per se. Because our fixtures increasingly feature technologies that tailor the museum experience (remote controls, color tuning, etc), lighting is has become part of museum’s embrace of technologies.

Compensation: We will provide an agreed upon honorarium  and traveling expenses.

Please contact Joel Siegel (jsiegel@epl.com) to discuss further. We look forward to hearing from you!

    Hi!

I just arrived from the MUSEO REIMAGINADO meeting, at Buenos Aires Argentina,, and there was a "jugment" about this issue! Was fantastic, with "lawyers educators" pro and against this matter.

At end, the sentence was: it´s important to incorporate technologies in museums, but with parsimony.

I strongly point you to search about the program (with the names of the presenters!) at the TyPA Foundation website.

    Best regards
