  • 1.  Museums and Student Debt

    Posted 08-26-2015 12:10 PM

Hello, friends. I'm writing to find out if any of you know of, coordinate, or participate in efforts by museums to address or reduce student debt among employees. Are any museums partnering with museum studies programs to specifically support employee education? Are any institutions advising new employees about the Public Service Loan Repayment Program? Are some organizations offering to help with loan repayment?

My thinking on this comes from trends in other industries (e.g. tech and transportation) toward figuring out new ways of relieving employee student-loan burdens (such as partnering with local community colleges or offering alternative credentialing models). And also this: Day After Debt: A Call for Student Loan Relief | Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at Michigan State University

Anybody have any experience with this?
