  • 1.  Scheduling software for onsite membership and visitor services staff

We are looking at hiring a much larger group of staff than we had previously when we open our new building. Does anyone use a great scheduling software that they can recommend?

We went to When I Work and love it. It has an app so I always know who is on and what role just by opening it up. (And without crowding my personal calendar which is what I used to do!) It has a lot of features like requests for days off, reminders for those who are scheduled, etc. I can even enable the GPS and see if people are really where they are supposed to be. (Too big brother for me, but we manage 1000 acres and it may be nice to see if we have adequate coverage throughout the property.)

Highly recommend. We've been very happy with it.

    Good luck!

Thanks so much Nora. I've seen that one and now I'll give it a more thorough look! Would you mind letting me know how many employees you schedule with it?

Here we use Shiftplanning. It's completely web based and allows staff to keep track of their schedule via their smart devices. Their customer service is really responsive and their is very little if any downtime. Integrates with a variety of accounting programs, has different levels of security and host of other bells/whistles. Not sure if they're still offering trade-out service for non-profit 501(c)(3). You place their logo on your website, acknowledging use of the product with a small quote of appreciation and you have no out-of-pocket expense. Worth a look.

    Happy researching,
