  • 1.  Introducing museum security to interacting with visitors with cognitive/perceptual disabilities

    Posted 05-07-2015 12:38 PM

A colleague has asked for recent literature and/or experiences relating to introducing outside, contractual museum security guards to interacting with visitors with cognitive/perceptual disabilities.  Would love any experiences you can share or any checklists you can offer.

    Many thanks.

This is a topic we are discussing in our Security Department and I would very much appreciate any insights or information that other institutions have to share.

AAM has a wonderful series last year, and maybe they are accessible on their site or at least the handouts. Additionally, you could reach out to reps from organizations to do presentations, like from your VA or sight center.
