    Hi Nana,

The Oakland Museum of CA 3 core galleries, 1 temporary exhibit gallery and a terraced garden with sculptures, which can hold up to 2000 guests for an event. All in all, I believe we are on 7 acres, much of it landscaped, outdoor beauty. www.museumca.org

There's a book called A Gift of Architecture 2, sold at our gift shop,  which may be of interest to you.

I work in the Events department and am not involved with departments dealing with art and/or architecture unless they are planning an event.

    I hope this helps.

    Warmest regards,

    Catherine

Good evening- I am an AAM and Western Museum Association member but am currently working at a botanical garden.  I would say that you might find benefit in looking at the membership and information from the American Public Gardens Association which is the AAM for botanical institutions.   There is much gray area in the overlap between museums and botanical gardens--both are generally collection-based, for example.   Ford Bell, our AAM President, will be a keynote speaker at the APGA conference in Minneapolis in June.   Botanical gardens by their nature tend to be outdoor experiences.

Let me know if I can be of assistance to you.   Our garden is involved in a design process for eight acres of new collection beds,  interpretive narratives,  visitor facilities,  and similar elements.

     Regards,

    David

    Hello Nana!

My name is Maggie Zakri, and I am the Collections and Archives Specialist at the Neon Museum, which houses almost its entire collection outdoors in Las Vegas. Our Googie-style visitors' center is a relocated and restored 1961 motel lobby, which you also might be interested in. I would love to talk with you about your research. Call or write any time: mzakri@neonmuseum.org or 702-387-6366 x113.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
