Each year the Association of Art Museum Curators (AAMC) & AAMC Foundation is honored to award Conference Travel Fellowships for curators to attend our Art Curators Conference. Since 2010 alone, over 220 individual Curatorial Travel Fellowships have been awarded. This year we are proud to offer three Conference Travel Fellowship opportunities: for Junior Curators, for American Art Curators, and for Curators based in the Balkan Peninsula.
At the time of application, Fellows must be able to commit to attending the Art Curators Conference, from May 2-6, 2020 in Seattle, Washington.

Conference Travel Fellowship for Junior Curators
The Conference Travel Fellowship for Junior Curators, made possible through funding from the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, invites applicants that self-identify as “junior curators,” defined as having less than 10 years of experience working at non-profit organizations, regardless of geographic location, with direct responsibility for works of art. The Conference Travel Fellowship for Junior Curators will cover the expenses of up to four junior curators, providing funding for their registration fees for the Art Curators Conference, travel, and accommodations.
Conference Travel Fellowship for American Art Curators
The Conference Travel Fellowship for American Art Curators, made possible through funding from the Henry Luce Foundation, invites applicants from the Associate Curator level or below and working in American Art pre-1950 (including US Latinx and Native American fields of focus) with direct museum affiliation at any geographic location in the world. The Conference Travel Fellowship for American Art Curators will cover the expenses of up to four curators, providing funding for their registration fees for the Art Curators Conference, travel, and accommodations.
Conference Travel Fellowship for Curators Based in the Balkan Peninsula
The Conference Travel Fellowship for Curators Based in the Balkan Peninsula, made possible through funding from the Trust for Mutual Understanding, applicants must be working in the Balkan Peninsula and/or Southeastern Europe. This includes Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Serbia, Romania, and the European part of Turkey. The Conference Travel Fellowship for Curators Based in the Balkans and Southeastern Europe will cover the expenses of up to three curators, providing funding for their registration fees for the Art Curators Conference, travel and accommodations.
DEADLINE
Applications for the AAMC Foundation Conference Travel Fellowships opens on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 and the final deadline for submitting and application is 12pm ET on Friday, February 14, 2020. Please ensure you fill out all of the required questions. An incomplete or late submission will result in the application not being reviewed by the jurors. There are no exceptions to this rule.
