Transformative Language Arts Network (TLAN) is holding its first-ever Salon! It's FREE, ONLINE (via Zoom; registration required,
https://www.tlanetwork.org/event-5243538), and open to the public. Six TLAN members -- writers and poets who use written, spoken, or sung word for personal and community transformation -- will share their work on June 25, 2023 beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET/2:00 p.m. CT/1:00 p.m. MDT/12:00 noon PT. After the reading, we'll have an artist talk-back and time for questions and conversations with the audience.
And yes, I'm one of the TLAN artists who'll be reading my work -- I hope you'll join me!
Not sure if Transformative Language Arts is your thing? If you're in interpretation, it is! There's a lot of overlap between what we strive for in interpretation, museum and heritage site education and programming, and community building (amongst other museum work) and the values and purpose underlying Transformative Language Arts. TLAN is a great group of folks, too! :)
