    Hello,

I would like to find out how other Museums store copies of their Accession Records.  At the Museum of Texas Tech University we have our Accession Records in an electronic database, print three archival copies with one filed in the Registrar's office, one filed in the Division of the accession (Art, History, Anthropology, etc.), and one filed in the Museum's vault.  Now we are considering having the copies in the Registrar's office bound by year.  How do we compare to other institutions?

Thank you so much for your input,

    Terri

We are still working to find the best for us. As a small museum, we went about a decade without a dedicated collections manager. 20 years ago, we kept both a digital file and a single paper copy of the deed of gift. We still maintain both but I will probably start having more physical copies like you.
