This Senate Bill puts our historical heritage in danger. The Puerto Rican Institute of Culture is a government corporation that enjoy its own autonomy and each government administration tries to take away its powers, which weakers it more and more. The intention of transferring the Institute of Culture is to repeal the Law by which it was created in 1955 and convert the Institute into a department of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce.
