    Greetings All,

I am the Director of the Museum of the Peace Corps Experience.  I am the first paid staff member at the Museum, which is supported by 40+ volunteers and a visionary board of directors.  I am based in Brooklyn and working on a modest budget to realize plans for a permanent exhibition space in Washington, D.C.

My mentor John Fleming (Chair of The American Association for State and Local History and director in residence of the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville among other appointments) suggested that I reach out to this community to find office space for 1-2 days a week in NYC.  When John entered the museum field decades ago he was housed at the Ohio Historical Society.  Collocation with like-minded professionals offered informal professional development and exchange of ideas that I too would benefit from.

If you are associated with an institution in NYC that might be able to host please reach out.  I'm also eager to connect with others working on emerging museum projects, peace education initiatives, or scholars in the field of cultural heritage.  Feel free to connect on Linkedin or communicate here.

Thanks in advance for your consideration,
    Zack

Hi, Zack! A thousand years ago when I was a new director of a new organization working to restore and convert into a cultural center the first synagogue built (1876) in Connecticut to serve that purpose, because we had no CO for the historic building, my office was housed across the street in a room in a Baptist Church!  The room was used on Sundays as a classroom for the congregation's kids.  It was a bit inconvenient, only because I had to stash my computer, files, etc. into a corner of the room every Friday afternoon.  But it was worth the effort, if not for the financial savings, for the ties built with the clergy, staff and members of a community I might not have had if not for the arrangement.

You might look to a church nearby.  Cheers.  Vivian

    Hi Zack -

re: your interest in peace education initiatives -- you might be interested in the Transformative Language Arts Network (TLAN) -- many transformative language artists are involved (in teaching, writing, and other endeavors) in that area (not museum-specific or interpretive-programming specific, but the work and intent is aligned with your interests, I suspect).

    Info here:

    Good luck -
