    Dear Community,

First, I want to thank you all for your help discovering many different sites and options for building an online exhibit for my Capstone Project for my MA in Public History. I will report more on this in the weeks to come. I appreciate you all so much!

I have a new request for a school project for my class in Oral History. Any experts out there on adapting museums for people with disabilities and for our elders, both in the physical and the online world?

I am looking for at least two expert voices for individual oral history interviews. The topics are:

    1. Best practices, successes, and challenges related to addressing the needs of visitors who are differently abled or elderly: An industry expert who can offer an overview on how museum folks are trying to make adaptations in their physical space to meet requirements for people with different kinds of disabilities and for our aging population.

    2. Online exhibits for people who can't easily get to museums.  How to create online exhibits that make museums and collections more accessible for people with different abilities - video, audio, transcripts, photos, oral histories, and virtual approaches to bringing the online visitor into the space and the experience of the museum. Would love to talk with someone who has studied and implemented some ideas in this area.

I know this is alot to ask ... but I would need about an hour or so from your busy schedule. I would like to do the interview as a Zoom video and audio call, but I can adapt it to just audio.

This can be private and just for my class. But I am of course happy to release the materials to you for your use once I have gotten my school work completed. I can provide the artifact of the oral history itself and the transcript. Maybe having the interview transcript will inspire you to write an article on your topic for AAM. :-)

I'd like to do the interviews as soon as possible.

I appreciate your thoughtful consideration of this and your help in finding the right experts. Please feel free to make any suggestions on this thread but also please email me privately at revlauriesue@gmail.com.

    Blessings and gratitude,
    Laurie Sue
