I recently took over a role at an archives that has multiple traveling exhibits that go out for free across the state. We have three exhibits:
A- 3 copies
B- 2 copies
C - 1 copy
I need a better way to organize where they will be, and when. Right now, it is a google calendar that links to the website automatically (so when people click where the exhibits will be, it just pulls up the calendar). A few issues with this:
It is super cluttered, so some people just close it instead of trying to make sense of it
No way to sort it, so citizens have trouble seeing if/when exhibits will be near them (we want people to be able to go online, click on the one they are interested in, see where its held, and go visit it)
There is no way that shows the exhibits with multiple copies. So, sometimes, an institution wants an exhibit, but sees its already displayed somewhere that week/month. in this case, they just either are not reaching out to us, or email us to verify its completely booked (when its not). We are definitely losing people this way.
Ideas? Suggestions? I just took over this role last week, and I was told I could do whatever I want to get it better organized and displayed. It just has to be free
