Tod,
For our purposes, a powerful system is what we are also in the market for. There is media in our exhibit and not all of it can be paused, so I would need something to project our educators voices and carry through our exhibit. Thank you for bringing up this point about weight and power. I will consider that when we create storage solutions for our educator station.

I can't recommend any specific model, but consider the two major differentiating specifications between models, even within a single brand line: weight and power. Power and weight are directly linked because speaker magnets and batteries are heavy. The linked Shidu is 18w and 1.4 pounds. That's heavy but powerful. Shidu (and others) sell units that are much smaller, lighter, and also less powerful, but likely powerful enough for many situations. Don't make people lug something more bulky than is necessary.
Maybe someone can weigh in on power rating versus use case? Pun intended.

Hello all,
I'm looking for your recommendations for voice amplifiers, as we are looking to assist our museum educators in their tours. My main concern is battery life; I am in search of 3-4 voice amplifiers with a battery life of 8+ hours. I have a bit of a cushion on price, but I would like to see what you find successful for your educators and docents.
Thank you for your input.
