    Hello all,

I am a US-based PhD student at the University of Leicester, with my research focused on the creation of "Deaf-Friendly" museums and what it means to go beyond legal requirements for "accessibility" and into a territory where Deaf people are not just "accommodated," but embraced by museums. I also put this into practice as the director of the National Deaf Life Museum, and I know others are working in this field as well - particularly with regard to co-developing accessibility practices with members of the disabled community.

I am interested in creating a proposal for the AAM meeting in Denver in 2023, discussing not just accessibility and ADA/CRPD, but taking a deep dive into co-development and co-curation with disabled experts. If you are working in this area, whether for a specific exhibition, an individual museum, or broadly as a consultant, please reach out to me either by replying or emailing meredith.peruzzi@gallaudet.edu.

    Thank you!
