Is there a resource that AAM members use to find individuals for lectures at their museums?  I have a colleague who is looking to give more lectures on their work but doesn't know where to start.  They are an international architect that has worked with many museums and cultural institutions in several countries.

    Hello Gannon,
Though I am not familiar with a museum-specific platform, here are a few suggestions depending on who your colleague's target audience is:

    • AIA Chapters with Cultural Facilities Committees
    • Universities with schools of architecture and/or historic preservation since they typically open those talks to students, staff and the broader community.
    • Non-profits or cultural organizations focusing on a specific country's arts and culture (i.e. Goethe-Institut New York, French Heritage Society, etc.)

    Hope this helps.

Another suggestion would be for your colleague to submit a proposal to present a session at the next AAM conference - they would have a chance to speak in front of many museum professionals who would then know who your colleague is and something about their ability to present to the public.
