  • 1.  labels or tags for wood furniture collection

    Hello everyone,
We could use everyone's help with recommending a label that can be affixed to our George Nakashima furniture. Ideally we would like something that can have a unique identifier for every chair and table, but mindful that these are used by the public and cannot be permanently affixed like drilled into the furniture or glued on. Something that doesn't dangle quite so much like a tag too, as we have children who would love to rip them off. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Hi Kristen,

Great question. I've attached a link to an old NPS Conserve-O-Gram, and a very helpful video by the Dunn Museum. Depending on the object material, we use b72 to affix object IDS. At my museum we use b72 to affix archival paper with the object ID covered by another coat of b72. Its easily reversible with the use of acetone.

    Hope this helps!
