The Route 66 Spirit of America Museum opened last year on Route 66 in Stroud, Oklahoma (which is halfway between Tulsa and Oklahoma City and is best known for being home to the Rock Cafe). The museum's mission is to help heal the spirit of America, and it does this by celebrating the innovative people and organizations that have helped America "boldly go where it's never gone before" in the past and can help America continue to pursue the dream of "a more perfect Union" in the future. A future that more fully embodies the principles of cooperation, celebrating diversity, and life-long learning and improvement in pursuit of our dreams is possible! The museum will participate in the still-under-development Route 66 Centennial Celebration plans as well as celebrating the 250th birthday of America... both of which take place in 2026. To more fully understand the museum's mission and focus on innovation, I invite you to watch my presentation at the Oklahoma Museums Association's annual conference (which took place this past September) at the following link...
