Greetings, Museum peers! I am an Educational Director at an environmental and American History non-profit looking for some recommendations on best practices for program development and training. In 2010, I had inherited a host of educational programs that had been created in the early 1990s and early 2000s that required revision and re-development. Since then I have embraced the challenge and spent the past 10+ years immersing myself in the range of disciplinary content, experimenting with different program formats for different audiences, as well as speaking and relating to my audiences to monitor success. Today, I feel strongly that I have made great strides in creating programs that are fun and inspiring to teach, and that successfully bring teachers and students back each year. Now, I am ready to solidify and formalize my program drafts, but need to put the procedures in place for myself. (I have no direction for doing so from administration).
