  • 1.  9/11 (anniversary) exhibitions

    Posted 06-03-2025 08:41 AM
    Hello,

I saw a post on the forum a few months ago asking if folks are planning to do any interpretation for the upcoming 25yr anniversary of 9/11. I was also wondering this same question. Also, if other institutions have done a temporary exhibit on the subject (9/11 or post-9/11 in theme), I would be interested in this information as well.

Thank you in advance for your reply!

We are planning on doing an oral history and online exhibit about 9/11.  The key thing though is that we will be looking at the impact of the event on our community.  For those that don't know, three of the terrorists lived and trained in our community and President Bush was just up the road from us when it happened. Our focus will be on the community's reaction to being swarmed by the FBI, NSA, the media, etc.

    Hello Jacque,

The 9/11 Memorial & Museum has had special exhibits relating to the 9/11 attacks. It was the Pro Football Hall of Fame's honor to lend a former NFL player, Pat Tillman's Army Ranger jacket, to the 9/11 Memorial for a special exhibit on how sports were affected and helped the nation heal after 9/11. Pat Tillman felt compelled to give up his promising NFL career after the 9/11 attacks and enlist in the Army. In 2004, Pat lost his life serving his country.

Below is more information on the special exhibit.

CAMERON STERLING, ARCHIVE MANAGER AND IMAGE CURATOR USES FILEMAKER PRO. I was impressed with the flexibility and scale of the program as it is utilized by Cameron, we are returning to it.

This was covered in CPAL class November 2024:  Digital Asset Management for Artist Legacy Goals Instructed by: Cameron Sterling you can contact him through CPAL or his email above.

Also, the Center for the Preservation of Artists' Legacies 2025 Conference ends today and they are reviewing the tools that you are evaluating. You can contact Joy Glidden for their white papers and recordings.

Cameron Sterling works/has worked with the following collections:

Richard Avedon, Hiro, Ellen Graham, The Richard Avedon Foundation, Adobe Stock, Hamiltons Gallery, Pace/MacGill Gallery, The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, The J. Paul Getty Museum, The Norton Museum

    Dear All

I know this can be somewhat subjective thing. What are the best collections management software? I have only had some experience with one. I look forward to all responces.

    Thanks,

    Rachel
