Hello Museum Colleagues,
Many of you are familiar with the Museum Assessment Program (MAP), a flagship IMLS-funded, AAM-delivered program that has served more than 5,000 small and mid-sized museums. Did you know online applications are now open?
If you haven't already heard, MAP has been refreshed with new materials and two new assessments, Education & Interpretation and Board Leadership, are now offered along with the Organizational, Collection Stewardship and Community and Audience Engagement Assessments.
All five assessment types help institutions strengthen operations, plan for the future, and meet standards through a one-year process of self-assessment, institutional activities, and consultative peer review with a site visit and recommendations. Our website has detailed information about each assessment and a sample application form to preview.
The Application Deadline is December 1, 2019, which is just around the corner!
