    Hello all,

My colleagues are conducting a study on educator pathways. Please consider participating. For questions, please reach out to Kathryn Rende, knrende@ncsu.edu.

We are conducting a research study on the academic and career trajectories of informal science educators. We are interested in knowing how educators navigate informal science career pathways and their perceptions of informal science education careers. This information will be useful to informal education organizations and universities as they prepare the next generation of informal science educators.

We would like to hear from informal science educators at all levels, including interns and seasonal hires, as well as educators in entry, mid, and high experience levels, and both hourly or salaried positions. Participants must be over the age of 18, reside in the United States, and be employed at an informal science institution (museums, zoos, aquariums, science centers, parks, etc.). Informal science educators who have been furloughed or have lost their positions as informal science educators due to the COVID-19 pandemic are also encouraged to participate. While we are interested in collecting data from paid and unpaid interns, volunteers are unable to be included in the study at this time.

Participating in the study is entirely voluntary. The survey can be accessed at the link provided and will take about 15 minutes to complete. We know this is a busy time for informal science organizations, but hope you can help us reflect on informal education to create new pathways for those interested in an informal science career.

Thank you so much for helping us to make a difference for the future of informal science education!

    Best,

    Megan
