The National Aquarium in partnership with American Planning Association, National Religious Partnership for the Environment and Antarctic and Southern Ocean Coalition are pleased to announce we are now accepting applications for teams of high school youth to join the Urban Climate Action Network for Youth (UCAN). UCAN empowers teens concerned about climate change within their communities to take action, connect with peers in other cities to discuss environmental, social, and economic challenges and, ultimately, to create better places to live, work and play.
Four teams of high school-age students from across the United States will be selected to start this three-year journey beginning with the 2018 UCAN Conference July 9-13, 2018 at the National Aquarium, Baltimore, MD. Each team will learn how to create and implement local projects to address the effects of climate change in the community. Local experts from the American Planning Association will guide teams in project implementation, and mini-grants are available to teams to cover project costs.

Applications are due February 15, 2018
