We believe that cash compensation is the best motivator. However some museums may have policies against this. Over time it is the most motivating reward for membership sales. Some use gift cards or gift cents to s museum shop but there is a limit to what someone might want from a shop. Some use group goals but then everyone had to pull their weight. So we recommend INdividual cash goals.
But it you must also make the right hires and do sales amend membership training and refreshers to keep people motivated. Good luck!!

Subject: Do you have an Incentive Program for Membership Sales?
We are exploring effective incentives for front line visitor employees to build our membership base. It is an expectation that membership will be promoted by our Admissions and Program staff, but what might encourage them to sell more? Does anyone have a proven successful incentive program? Can it be sustained or do people lose enthusiasm for the reward? What reward is most effective in motivating sales?
Thanks so much for any and all ideas!
