The Science Festival Alliance has a host of news to share:
1. Funding available to "Go Where the People Are" (deadline: March 5)
We are embarking on a multi-year exploration of science experiences that reach people where they already are. We've seen teams take over sporting events, pop up in open-air markets, hit odd spots on a statewide roadtrip, put together science floats in local parades, and more. Now we can't wait to see what you're going to come up with.
It all begins with awards for work at sites across the US with $5,000 and $10,000 base sponsorships. If you've been day-dreaming about how to mix science into real life, it's time to jot those dreams down on paper. But get them in before the March 5 deadline:

2. Science Events Summit registration is open (discounted rates end March 5)
For years, the International Public Science Events Conference (IPSEC) has been the only conference in the US dedicated to live, in-person events. In 2018, IPSEC is blossoming into the Science Events Summit. We're putting together five days of fun on Florida's Gulf Coast, with two days of conference at the core of it all. Registration and the Call for Participation are open now, but earlybird rates expire on March 5 (registration includes meals during the conference).

3. The Science Festival Alliance 2017 Annual Report is now available
Science Festival Alliance members collectively topped 2,000,000 attendees for the second year in a row. With all of this momentum, it's hard to remember that there were only a handful of science festivals in North America when we started back in 2009.
