It's awards season, and that means EdCom too! Please consider nominating colleagues, friends, and even your own institution for an EdCom Award for Excellence in Programming or Resources, Excellence in Practice, and/or Innovation in Museum Education
by the January 31 deadline. That's 5 days away! These awards are judged by peers in the museum education field. Each group of three judges ranks and reviews nominations, and then deliberates to a consensus on the winner of each category. Winners pick up their hand-crafted glass awards at the AAM Annual Meeting during the EdCom luncheon; participate in a winners' talk-show at the Annual Meeting; get published in
Museum Magazine's Award issue; and create great publicity and buzz for their museum. The entry fee goes towards paying for the fabrication of the awards by a non-profit arts group.
