Does anyone have any experience with using NFC within their museum?

If you are talking about in terms of payment, we do have that as a payment method.  But that's because we use Square and we purchased the Square register.  It came with everything to accept swipe, chip, and tap.

The value of history is, indeed, not scientific but moral:

by liberalizing the mind, by deepening the sympathies,

by fortifying the will, it enables us to control, not society,

but ourselves - a much more important thing; it prepares

us to live more humanely in the present and to meet rather

    than to foretell the future.

Great point with the Square usage.

I was thinking of interactions with the exhibits and space.

Over the years a few museums have incorporated NFC into their exhibitions, etc. Off the top of my head... Museum of London, Cooper Hewitt, and ACMI.

@Sebastian Chan is super knowledgable about NFC and RFID (amongst a million other things!) and probably has some tips about his experiences.

    Thanks Brendan

Yes I'm more than happy to chat to folks about NFC. My current museum, ACMI, in Melbourne Australia has and continues to do lots of NFC delivered experiences in general operations and special exhibitions - and I was formerly at Cooper Hewitt and was behind their interactive work.

NFC is a very stable and robust technology and there are many options ...
