Hi all,
I recently submitted a conference session proposal to look at alternatives to graduate degrees as museum professional training. I'm very interested in talking with anyone in the US or Canada who works with/runs a museum apprenticeship program like those offered by some United Kingdom museums - targeted at young adults (18-25) or older adults reentering the workforce and are commitments of 1 to 2 years, pay a decent living wage with benefits, and often include ways to fulfil certificate course work in museum studies (or a focus in an area of museums, such as collections, finance, HR, IT, etc.) during the apprenticeship.
If anyone can connect me, it would be appreciated.
Best,
Keni
