Accompanying the Indigenous Community of the Tibolis in the Preservation of their Cultural Heritage

    About this event

To promote and ensure the sustainability of the indigenous art and culture of the T'bolis in the southern part of the Philippines, San Beda Alabang Museum designed an exhibition of the famous fabrics woven by the T'boli women. Known as "dream weavers," it is believed that the design details of the fabric were derived from the visions which were handed down by their ancestors.

The pandemic halted an exhibition that was intended to advocate for their art. Join this discussion to use this as a case study to discuss ways to support indigenous communities financially, socially, and emotionally as they navigate challenges of modernism, commercialism, and the pandemic.

This program will be hosted via Zoom. You will receive additional details upon registration.
