  • 1.  Museum Workers Relief Fund

Hello! I'm writing to let you know about the Museum Workers Relief Fund, a field wide mutual aid effort organized by members of Museum Workers Speak. The fund is designed to support each other as the financial impacts of COVID-19 continue to unfold and impact those most vulnerable among us.

The Museum Workers Relief Fund operates using the principles of mutual aid: organized by and for museum workers, founded on equity, trust, solidarity, and empowerment of our members without means-testing or conditions for receiving aid. Funds are intended for museum workers in the most precarious financial situations, even pre-crisis (see details for who should apply on our website).

We just released our first funds, and can already see what our community can do when we come together and support each other.

We have a couple of asks:

    1. If you are currently in need, or feel you are in a position to help out, please follow this link to our Gofundme page, or to the fund's website for more information about applying. Please help us get to our next 30k milestone!

    2. Further, the success of this effort will be determined by how widely it is spread. Please share with your colleagues, particularly ones who can reach out to front line and contractual workers and spread the word to those will benefit most.

When our institutions won't stand with us, we must stand with each other. Please help spread the word, and if you are able, please consider making a donation today!
