  • 1.  Fundraising Concultants

I have recently joined the board of a new emerging historic house museum. We constitute the "friends" group and are developing a fundraising strategy. We may want to consider hiring a fundraising consultant. Any thoughts, recommendations for where to find a resource for such a service? I have reviewed all of the content on the AAM website but would like to hear from organizations who have actually utilized someone to develop a fundraising plan.

    Hi Amy,

Would be happy to talk about hiring a fund raising consultant.  Let's set up a date a time.

    Best,

Hey Amy,  We are a small boutique firm that provides fundraising services.  We are client-friendly and glad to provide some free advice to help you along.  By the way, I started my career in the Stone-Tolan house in Rochester, NY in 1970...yikes...cheers, Sully

When I am asked this question by a prospective client, prior to a conversation, I send some background materials:

-The legal definition of a fundraising consultant for the client's state. This is to make sure that a consultant is what is being sought, as compared to a solicitor or contract staff member. The site I use to find the legal definition is http://www.labyrinthinc.com/resources/laws/state-definitions-of-paid-fundraising-contractors/

    - Recent articles that I think are informative. Right now I would suggest:
