    All,

Does anyone have good image research and rights acquisition contractors with whom they've worked? I have a couple but am trying to add to my pool of resources.

    Thanks,
    Carolynne

    Hi Carolynne,

History Associates in Rockville helps us out a lot with image research.

Hi, Carolynne-- Highly recommend both of the following:

    Melissa Flamson
    With Permission
    2765 Larkspur Lane
    Sacramento, CA 95864
    916-621-3027
    Fax: 801-262-2618

    Ellen Lee Pettengell
    ep.permissions@gmail.com
    4152 N. Lawndale
    Chicago, IL 60618

I've worked with Melissa for a long time (including permissions for my interp writing book, Electric Lemons: Interpretation and the Art of Writing). She wasn't available when I needed help for a textiles book that is coming out in November, but she recommended Ellen Pettengell, who did a great job (with a lot of challenging searches for images, as well as tracking down and obtaining rights-to-use). Both are efficient, i.e., they don't run up infinite numbers of hours to get the job done.
