    Dear Colleagues ...

Many of you are welcoming children into your museums and serving this audience through innovative strategies and programs.  If you, or someone you know, is interested in writing a book about this topic to contribute to the current literature, take a moment to read the Call for Proposals below and get in touch with me.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Routledge series – Global Perspectives on Children in Museums.

Museums have long been known as educational institutions, but throughout history museum audiences have traditionally been defined in a very narrow way. Researchers, educators, and other innovative thinkers with a passion for children and learning have worked tirelessly over the last couple of decades to change the perception of learning in the early years, and in many ways, have played a vital role in establishing a new path for museums as places for young visitors.  Many museums now recognize young children as part of their audience and offer unique experiences to nurture a child's growth and inspire learning, yet there is still a limited amount of research and documentation of theory and practice related to this growing field.

Global Perspectives on Children in Museums addresses this oversight by helping to build a strong understanding of children's development and their capacity as museum visitors. This series invites diverse points of view through texts focused on a wide range of critical topics for young museum visitors. As a new series, Global Perspectives on Children in Museums provides researchers and museum practitioners an opportunity to share and discuss research, theory, and practice with the broad community of museums.  https://www.routledge.com/Global-Perspectives-on-Children-in-Museums/book-series/GPOCIM
