Small museum exhibit technology, sound, costs

We're developing a new exhibit for our 2000 square foot museum, hoping to incorporate better use of technology to provide a more immersive experience. Initial questions for the hive mind: what should we expect to pay for a company to develop platforms that visitors can activate themselves for either/or film and audio presentation.  For the film platform, we would provide the content (e.g., video and/or film footage and captions), but would need the company to stitch it together to create a 5-minute loop. Second, we would provide a variety of audio clips, including oral histories and sounds characteristic of work places (e.g., vessels and seafood plants), but would like a platform that would allow visitors to select among different options. Finally, what sound technology have small museums found most effective for individual exhibits (e.g., speakers/headphones/sound stick/own phone)-considering costs and limiting cacophony?   Bonus question: Recommendations for companies in the Northeast who might be able to do this would be very welcome!
    Thanks for any ideas,
    Madeleine
