All,
Greetings and happy summer.
I am currently detailed to CMH and the project before me is the creation of an AME Scope of Collection.
This scope would be an overarching one with individual scopes inserted as an annex.
There is already a list at my right elbow of numerous policies that would have to be written in order to implement the scope (i.e. Collections Committee Guidelines and Procedures, guidance for differentiation for AHCAS vs. AMLRS), but I think having the scope will give us a foundation.
Once we have a scope we can analyze AHCAS - standardizing the database, cataloging methodology - and then comparing that analysis to the scope, enabling us to identify gaps and establish de-accessioning guidelines.
The question I have for you today is, what do you think of an AME-wide Scope of Collection?
