The State Historical Society of North Dakota is partnering with Humanities North Dakota to host the 2022 Chautauqua Training Institute. This virtual, year-long incubator program will identify, prepare, and support scholars to develop and perform in personae presentations of historical figures for public audiences. There is no cost to participate in the institute. Successful applicants will receive a $500 materials stipend and a $3,500 honorarium upon the completion of an online Chautauqua performance at the end of the training period. The entire institute will be hosted online and is open to scholars from across the nation. Applicants may choose any significant historical figure from any historical period, geographic location, or culture to portray.
