Recognizing the need to transform museums and cultural work, a new critical museum studies journal, Fwd: Museums, invites submissions of artwork, essays, reviews, creative writing, utopian dreams, designs, interviews, poetry, love- and break-up letters, and experimental forms to analyze, critique, and make space for new thinking about museums and exhibitions.
The theme for our next issue is "Small."
Possible topics include: Big and small as metrics of success and failure; Small positions in large institutions and large positions in small institutions; Times when you have been made to feel small; Being small; The impact of small ideas in a culture preoccupied with bigness; Scale in art; When aggressions are micro, are they small?; Downsizing; And more.
Submissions beyond the theme are also welcomed.
