A bit about me: I have been the Director of the Renton History Museum outside Seattle for the past 10 years, and before that worked at the Banneker-Douglass Museum, Annapolis, MD; National Museum of American History; and McKissick Museum, Columbia, SC. I am also a MAP peer reviewer and a brand new member of AASLH's Small Museums Committee (phew!). I have a particular interest in museums as part of creative cities (a la Richard Florida and Peter Kageyama).
