Yes--I just recommended the Skins and Bones app as well. I visited the Smithsonian just last November and thought it was great!
We have also just released an augmented reality app which connects audiences with natural history specimens with a specialty in insects. The project took a little over a year to produce and was developed in collaboration with iDigBio. You can see more about it here.

We also have a iDgBio working group called ARPEO--Augmented reality for Public Education and Outreach. We welcome
anyone who has an interest in this area--not just those with iDigBio affiliation.

Hi Pam,
as Matthew mentioned (thank you!) we did in fact use AR technology in the Skin & Bones mobile app, in addition to all of the videos and activities; in fact just last week we released version 2.0 with which users can see the augmented content anywhere, and not just in front of the skeletons in the Bone Hall like with version 1.0.
Let us know if you have specific questions (MarquesD@si.edu)
