  • 1.  STEM Professionals Survey

    Posted 02-26-2015 01:50 PM

    Dear Colleagues,

The STAR Library Education Network in partnership with the American Library Association invites you to participate in an online survey seeking to identify the differences (if any) of Communities of Practice for librarians and for those in the STEM community.

A Community of Practice is a group of people who share a concern or passion for something they do and learn how to do it better through regular interaction. The NSF-funded STAR Library Education Network (Science-Technology Activities and Resources) is the product of a collaboration between the Space Science Institute's (SSI) National Center for Interactive Learning (NCIL), the American Library Association (ALA), the Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI), and the Afterschool Alliance.

This project provides public libraries with interactive exhibits and library staff with training (online and in‐person) on the STEM content of the exhibits. It guides staff in developing complementary programming, and helps staff implement outreach activities. Additionally, we have established a Community of Practice (CoP) for library staff participating in the project.

The survey will take approximately 7 to 10 minutes and can be accessed here: Click here to take a survey. Or copy and paste this address in your browser: https://cuboulder.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_8BA2nejjeRjGbsh

Thank you for your time and input. We will be happy to answer any questions or respond to any concerns you may have. Please direct all questions and concerns to: Jim Hakala, Senior Educator, University of Colorado Museum, james.hakala@colorado.edu

    Sincerely,

    The STAR_Net Team
