Dear friends,
This message applies to all of us, but is focused on the DC area. I'm working with the DC-area branch of this network of doctors to
find PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) materials - gloves, facemarks, etc. Museums have stocks of many of the types of materials doctors will need. Can your institution help?
Our goal is to find large caches of PPE materials within organizations and industries. That includes food service, construction, and cultural organizations like museums. Some museums have already been active. Mount Vernon (an AAM member) has already donated their N95 masks to area healthcare providers. But we need help getting the message out nationwide. And the clock is ticking.
You may have heard something about this on the radio today, and there's is going to be more in the press over the coming days as the network raises awareness. The logistics are being handled by this grassroots organization, which generally calls it self "Get Us PPE." Here's the national website:
https://getusppe.org/ Each local branch is coordinating pickups in communities, all being run out of hospitals by doctors who will be on the front lines. People in the DC area can sign up to donate through this link:

Thank you for your attention. Please pass along this message far and wide!
